How can I lock access to an exterior door knob?

Several friends and relatives have keys to my weekend house, there are weeks when I don't want them using it but sometimes I suspect they still do. I don't want to change the locks, I'm just looking for something to attach to the exterior of the door as I leave, so I can lock access to the door lock. I can't seem to find anything suitable, does such thing exist?

You could change the locks and then find a place to hide a key. On the weeks or weekends that you do not want them using it just don't leave the key there, take it with you. Have do not duplicate stamped into the key so they will not be able to have copies made.

no other than changing the lock
Problem solved. There's a box that locks over the doorknob:

There, I found you a cheap simple solution, exactly what you wanted. So why don't you give me an %26quot;attagirl%26quot; and %26quot;resolve%26quot; your question (though I don't need the points).
While it is not the solution that you are hoping for, one option might be to change the locks. Before you dismiss this idea, let me finish. Outside of my back door, I have a key box with a combination. The combination is easy to change, and this way when somebody needs access to the house, I can give them the combination. When whoever it is done with their task, I can change the combination to the key box and don't have to worry about the changing the locks. The other thing that you can do is to change the combination on the weekends when you don't want anyone there. Plus it is a better idea to have control of all your keys instead of allowing them to be out with other people.

While not what I have, this is similar to something that I would recommend.

have you thought of fitting a second lock that you will only have a key to that will stop them using the home when you don't want them to. or have a word with a lock and security shop or specialist they might know of the equipment you require I hope this helps
