Take it to a locksmith, if you try to do it yourself, you will have springs, pins or levers all over the place.

Have the hardware store re-key it for you for $5 or order a rekey kit from www.changealock.com for $10.95.

If you change the lock you will need to get a new key...
the easiest way is to buy a combo pack with two lock sets in it keyed the same and change out both doors...
This would have to be done at a lockshop just take the key you want to use and the door handle you want it to work with to the lock shop and they will do it there.
you need to buy a set labeld %26quot;Keyed Alike%26quot; .. That means you have to change both locks at the same time with the new set.
Im thinking you will need to go to a locksmith to change the cores in your door knobs. Or your going to have to change all the knobs again.
New door locks come with a new key that matches
If the room door knob has the key feature just take it and your house key to a hardware store like ACE or TRUEVALUE and have them re-key the lock. If it doesn't buy a new one and have them key it to your house key. You don't need to buy two locks just get it re-keyed. You don't need a locksmith.
You can take the knob to a locksmith, and tell him that you want it re-keyed to match the house key.
You can call a locksmith to re-key the door knob. You hand the locksmith the key you want it to work with, he will take apart the lock, throw away the old pins, and put in new pins. Then the key for the front door will also work your closet door.

Locksmiths typically charge $70-$80 during the daytime to re-key one lock.
