Running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate,
this is what i was told to do
%26quot;In some of the latest releases I have renamed the %26quot;.wmv%26quot; extension to %26quot;.lock%26quot; to try and prevent the links from being taken down so soon. If you download a movie and get a %26quot;.lock%26quot; file, just simply rename the file and change the %26quot;.lock%26quot; to %26quot;.wmv%26quot;. Its just a dummy modification I put in to help keep these links alive%26quot;
. . . Ive renamed it but it says its a .wmv.lock file im lost
this plays perfectly fine on my pc but in its current form (.lock) its not xbox360 compatible (through media sharing or media center)
How to change .lock file extension to .wmv?
You added .wmv to the name, you didn't change the extension from .lock to .wmv. (You have to have Windows Explorer set to show known extensions, not hide them. Hiding is the default.)
